This was originally made as a response to the Syrian refugee crisis. It took Stephanie Grainger and I around six months to put this together and we were lucky enough to get Will Shakespeare to write the lyrics, the late Carol Sloman to write the music and Chloe Maloney to sing the main vocal. It is a digital artwork we found particularly satisfying to work on.
While displacement is not a new phenomenon, the scale of the current crisis is unprecedented. Right now, there are more than 82 million people in the world who have been forcibly displaced from their homes – the highest figure recorded by the United Nations since the Second World War.
